Das Stück sonifiziert Luftaufnahmen von Interneierungslagern, zerstörten Moscheen und Friedhöfen in Xinjiang, China.
Es ist einerseits eine Reaktion auf die mediale Präsentation der Menschenrechtsverletzungen, bei der die Dokumentation von Zerstörung in durchaus ästhetischer Weise präsentiert werden,
andererseits versteht es sich als direkte Reaktion auf die gravierenden Geschehnisse in China.

Sound Installation created during pIAR residence. Kumasi, Ghana 2021.
Realised by Emilio Gordoa during the summer of 2021 at the pIAR residency in Ashanti Region, Kumasi, Ghana, “Buried Sounds” is a work that seeks the physicality of sound and attempts to push the boundaries of a place where minimalism is not part of an everyday environment, but where, on the contrary, a variety of exhilarating outlets and turbulent vibrations are experienced.
For multi-channel buried bass speakers, ground and low frequency oscillators.
With the support of crazinisT artisT, Martin Toloku and funded by the Goethe-Institut.
